A microwave mica sheet (also known as a waveguide cover) is a thin, heat-resistant, and non-conductive material that protects the microwave’s internal components from food splatter, steam, and grease while allowing microwaves to pass through for cooking. It’s usually installed on the side wall or ceiling of the microwave cavity, covering the waveguide opening.
Material: Mica (heat-resistant, dielectric)
Purpose: Protects magnetron and waveguide from grease, moisture, and food particles
Appearance: Thin, semi-transparent sheet (usually silver, beige, or grey), often rectangular with one or two holes or cutouts
